Metatarsalgia
Metatarsalgia is a condition marked by pain and inflammation in the ball of your foot. You may experience Metatarsalgia if you're physically active and you participate in activities that involve running and jumping. You can also develop metatarsalgia by wearing ill-fitting shoes.
Neuromas
Neuroma is a painful condition that affects the ball of your foot and is most commonly located in the area between your third and fourth toes.
Calluses
A callus (or callosity) is an especially toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. Rubbing that area too frequently or forcefully will cause blisters rather than allow calluses to form. Since repeated contact is required, calluses are most often found on feet because of frequent walking. Calluses are generally not harmful but may sometimes lead to other problems, such as skin ulceration or infection.
Corns
Corns and calluses are protective layers of compacted, dead skin cells. They are caused by repeated friction from skin rubbing against bony areas or against an irregularity in a shoe. Corns ordinarily form on the toes and calluses on the soles of the feet.
Crush Injuries
A crush injury occurs when a body part is subjected to a high degree of force or pressure, usually after being squeezed between two heavy objects.
